In the heart of downtown Toronto, this isn't a restaurant, this is an experience.
It all starts off as soon as you walk in the door and are greeted by jesters of some sort that help you with what knight and kingdom you will be cheering for, we were the red and yellow knight so our crowns were red and yellow. The next room is where your picture is taken so that you have at least 1 item to look at and say oh yeah hey that was a great time. You can of course go to the gift shop if you so choose, they are a little pricy so if you are on a shoe string budget, may I recommend flag of your knight for 5 dollars, you don't need it but, it is worth it. After you have walked around hung out at the gift shop, and got to see the horses up close and personal you will be herded into the venue where the show begins. How you get in is up to you, depending on the package that you reserve. Shelby and I bought the celebration package, even though we didn't have anything to celebrate, we just didn't read the fine print which happens.. (always read the fine print) At this point in time you have found your seat and your server is coming around to top you up with your choice of non-alcoholic beverages. If you are looking for a beer fear not the bartender will be coming around too. He does cost extra though. Now it is time for the show to begin, and smoke rises from the ground, the volume goes up and your tummy is just about to be full. The horses are on point if you haven't been I don't want to spoil it for you but at multiple points in the show sparks fly, I'd say it brings you to the edge of your seat but you are probably picking the meat off your bones of the chicken right now. The meal is fantastic, garlic bread, the sweetest corn, some form of potato and the aforementioned chicken all come out one at a time. Oh and desert, desert is most important! It changes from day to day depending on what the castle is serving.. we had an éclair and cake because we paid extra and were celebrating. I'd like to tell you the cake was good but I found it much to sweet, it was some sort of lemon cake. The server told us that during the show forks were invented, so you can have a for for desert, but not your meal.. that you eat with your hands, and you will love every minute of it!! Next time you are in the GTA and trying to figure out what to do for dinner, don't just do dinner. Do the Medieval Times Experience and be amazed!! (servers tip not included in the price of admission)
